Job Summary
To support individuals in a variety of settings: personal, social, physical, recreation, and educational. To perform all duties in a safe, efficient, and respectful manner that promotes choice, independence, inclusion, and allows participants to pursue their goals.
Qualifications
- Community Support Worker Certificate or equivalent post-secondary education and related experience
- Experience in supporting people with intellectual and physical disabilities in a community setting
- Current first aid and CPR
- Valid BC driver's license (Class 4 in some circumstances)
- Ability to relate effectively to persons with intellectual and physical disabilities
- Ability to effectively support people who may exhibit challenging behaviours
- Ability to work as an effective team member
- Ability to develop, write, and follow through with personalized program plans
- Ability and willingness to try new activities that may prove challenging
