The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)

CARF is an international non-profit organisation that was founded in 1966 with the assistance of Mary E. Switzer, who was at the time the U.S. Social and Rehabilitation Service commissioner.

CARF provides an accreditation service every three years to Clay Tree Society; over three days a surveyor arrives on site and looks for conformance to quality standards and is also looking to identify areas for growth and improvement which helps the service provider to focus on outcomes and satisfaction of the persons served whilst making sure we keep the quality of service delivery.

This accreditation gives assurance to persons seeking service that Clay Tree Society has demonstrated conformance to internationally accepted standards, improved communication with persons served and has persons focused standards that emphasize an integrated and individualized approach to services and outcomes.

During the time the CARF surveyor is on site they are reviewing files and interviewing personnel; this gives them a good overview of where CLay Tree Society stands in complying with the standards established by CARF. Over 1400 standards are checked during the visit and then a final report is written and submitted. There is always an open interview both at the beginning and the end of each survey.

Clay Tree maintains high standard and is proud to have held CARF accreditation since 2004.
