Our young adult program has a strong focus on community involvment in keeping with the Clay Tree philosophy of “People Helping People”.
In an effort to “bridge” partnerships, participants and staff have worked with organizations such as Salvation Army Kettles, Nanaimo Hospital Foundation, S.P.C.A., Hamperville, “Coldest Night of the Year” walk in support of those who are homeless and the Dragon Boat Festival, just to name a few. Bridges is constantly looking for new opportunities to aid local charities and promote awareness of the needs within the community.
Some of the regularly scheduled activities include: horseback riding, hip hop dancing, recycling, Self-Advocacy and music.
Person-centered planning drives the objectives of this program. Bridges constantly strives for inclusion, barrier reduction and self advocacy.
